Professional Training Programmes

Turn financial data into
confident business decisions

CICL Finance & Accounting training helps finance teams and non-finance leaders read numbers clearly, ask better questions and make disciplined decisions about cost, growth and risk.

Who our Finance & Accounting programmes are for

We support organisations that want their finance function—and everyone who uses its output—to be more confident, analytical and forward-looking, not just compliant.

Discuss your context Request Proposal

Finance & accounting teams

Accountants, analysts and finance officers who must produce accurate, insightful and timely financial information.

Business & cost centre managers

Non-finance leaders who own budgets, approve spend and need to interpret numbers when steering their units.

Executives & boards

Senior leaders and board members who require clearer commentary and more confident discussion around financial performance.

Growing SMEs & scale-ups

Organisations moving from basic bookkeeping to structured budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.

Finance & accounting gaps we help you close

We focus on the practical gaps that limit the impact of your finance function—from weak financial literacy to fragmented reporting and poor budgeting discipline.

Low financial literacy

Managers and staff who avoid the numbers, are unsure how to read financial statements or confuse cash, profit and revenue.

Spreadsheet chaos

Many versions of the truth across spreadsheets, with fragile formulas and little documentation or standardisation.

Weak budgeting & forecasting

Budgets that are copied from last year, limited scenario planning and poor visibility on future cash and profitability.

Compliance pressure, limited insight

Finance teams consumed by statutory deadlines, with little time to interpret numbers or support strategic decisions.

FAQs

Clear answers to common questions about CICL Finance & Accounting programmes.

Can we run different tracks for finance and non-finance staff?

Yes. We frequently run separate or combined tracks for finance teams, business managers and executives—ensuring that each group gets the right depth, examples and exercises.

Do participants need laptops and Excel?

For most hands-on programmes, yes. We work primarily with Excel or similar tools so that participants can practise calculations and scenarios directly during sessions.

Can you align with our existing charts of accounts and systems?

We can align examples and templates to your chart of accounts, reporting structure and finance systems, so that learning maps easily onto day-to-day work.

How long does a typical programme take?

Short bootcamps may run for 1–3 days, while academies and cohort journeys can run for several weeks or months. We adjust based on your objectives, audience and calendar constraints.

Do participants receive certificates?

Yes. Participants who complete agreed requirements receive certificates of participation, and for longer academies we can design completion criteria or assessment where appropriate.

What are the next steps if we are interested?

We start with a discovery conversation about your goals, current finance capabilities and constraints. Based on that, we propose a tailored programme outline and commercial terms for your review.

Data Protection

We treat all financial, commercial and operational information shared for training purposes as confidential. Only authorised CICL consultants working on your engagement can access such data.

Where we use real financial reports or models, we encourage anonymised or redacted versions, and we work within your organisation’s data protection and confidentiality guidelines.

Training materials and example data sets are stored securely for the duration of the engagement and agreed follow-up, then removed from our active systems, unless otherwise agreed with you.

Our goal is to create a safe learning environment where teams can engage honestly with numbers, without compromising sensitive financial information.
